A lot of weather

Walking up towards the hills today.

The summit of Carn Ingli visible in the distance.

The sky fills with darker clouds and the wind blows so hard from the west that it's hard to keep the camera still. Hailstones come. Time to turn round and head for home.

Later on the skies clear and we see the sun as it slips below the outline of Carn Ingli.

Later still ..... after dark the huge and sudden sound of thunder briefly surrounds us and a burst of hail is noisy against the windows.

A promise of apple blossom

The old apple trees in the Kitchen Garden, the flower buds unfurling in the sunshine.

Cold nights linger but the earth warms and wakens

The beginnings of the fire in the stove this evening.

Earlier on, as our potatoes go in - the straight furrow is not always the best furrow.....

Ivy Leaved Toadflax adorns a gateway.

Primroses enjoy their sheltered spot amongst the stones of an old wall.

Tonights full moon .....

Rising golden between Foel Drygarn and the Frenni Fawr.

A little later, high amongst the fast moving clouds.

A rumour of snow

The wind has more and more to say and I believe it .....

Foel Drygarn under the blank afternoon sky; the three bronze age cairns at the summit are just discernable. They are said to mark the burial of three kings: Mon, Maelen and Madog.

On the edge of the mists

The hills hidden completely for the afternoon by a wall of mist, but the merry blaze of gorse is everywhere.

Bare hazel branches reflected in a pool.

Newport Beach at the turning of the tide

Where the wind proves a little too bracing to linger for long.

A little sunshine from last week .....

Visiting the lovely Carreg Coetan Arthur, warm from the sun and welcoming.

Waterfalls, wind and rain

A day of shifting clouds and sudden fleeting sunshine. Heavy rain fell overnight - the waterfalls and streams are busy with hasty water from the hills.

Signs of Spring and the calm before the storm

Catkins veil Carn Breseb.

Daffodils open above a large Bluestone which was once part of the base of a wall.

A storm brews tonight in the west, out in the darkening Atlantic. As the light fades the first clouds gather over the sea and threaten the delicate crescent of the new moon.
