Up and away

The young swallows are now flying. They swoop and soar and are bowled around by the wind. They communicate with their parents in a constant excited chatter and make frequent rest stops.

This little one was reluctant at first .....

..... but quickly gained the confidence to join the others.

Taking a break.

In my first year in Australia, I waited and waited to see the swallows leave,as I did each year in England. They didn't. Our swallows here are permanent residents!
