Inwards

Equinox time - and a peaceful stillness. The sun has shone and the winds have had little to say. A small blaze of yellow is rekindled now in the gorse bushes and a wood fire burns in our hearth. The last of the fruits and flowers seem to contain a glow of their own. At night there is a hazy golden yellow half moon; the hills are serene against the night sky.

What a gorgeous collection of gold. Is that last one a raspberry of some kind or an unripened blackberry?

The images are glorious... and proof of the wonderfulness of green and gold.

Hey, thanks!

It's a ripe raspberry, I think the idea of the yellow variety is that they are less immediately attractive to birds because of the colour. If I'm honest, I have to say that the flavour isn't brilliant .....

Well colour wise you could grow red and gold by each other. A shame the taste isn't as lovely as the colour tho'.

If I were a bird, I'd love the colour!

Lovely descriptive post and beautiful photos. The yellow raspberry is so pretty that maybe it can be forgiven a lack of flavour:)

Thanks Rowan! I've been thinking that raspberry white wine might be nice - hmmm, maybe next year.
